If you are having trouble loading the DoubleDown Casino app on your iOS device, there are a few basic steps we recommend.
Note: DoubleDown Casino requires iOS 13 or above.
Instructions differ depending on whether your device has a Home button or not. Newer devices do not use the Home button, so we have listed those steps immediately below. If your device has a Home button, please scroll down to the second set of instructions.
If your device does not have a Home button:
-
Close any apps currently running in the background.
When you switch apps or return to your home screen, the app you are using doesn't close; it minimizes but remains running so that you can return to it quickly. That handy feature can result in too many apps running at the same time, which can ultimately slow your entire device down and prevent apps from launching.
Swipe upward from the bottom of the screen, and you will see your open apps displayed as large tiles. Apple provides visual instructions on how to force-close apps on their support site.
Swipe each tile in an upward motion to close the corresponding app. When you have only your home screen remaining, all your background apps are closed.
-
Power the device off and back on.
Just like any computer, your iOS device needs to be restarted from time to time to clear the cobwebs.
Press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons, then slide to power off when prompted.
-
Check for software updates.
To check for an iOS update, launch the Settings app. In the left-hand menu, choose General, then Software Update. If there is an update available, it will prompt you to Download and Install.
-
Uninstall and reinstall the app.
If you're still having trouble after restarting your device, it may help to reset the app by reinstalling it. Press and hold the app icon, select Remove App in the menu that appears, then confirm by selecting Delete App. After the uninstall process is complete, launch the App Store app, and download DoubleDown Casino to your device.
